With Christmas travels, this past month has blown past us! We had a wonderful time being able to visit family and friends in New Jersey over the holiday. It is a joy for us to introduce Grace to those who haven't had a chance to meet her yet.
This month has not brought many big physical changes for Grace. She has only gained about a half pound. Our pediatrician is watching her growth to make sure this is a normal growth pattern for her. Otherwise, she looks and acts like a happy and healthy baby!
This month Grace has:
- Enjoyed her first Christmas and New Year celebrations (although she didn't stay up to see the ball drop)!
- Has begun to reach for and grab toys. The first toy she reached for was also her first Christmas present from Mommy & Daddy.
- Discovered her feet. It is so adorable to see her stare at them in the air as she wiggles her toes or rotates her feet in tiny circles.
- Started to play on her own - enjoying about 30 minutes on her activity mat every evening practicing hitting the toys and listening to the butterfly "sing" to her. If we time this right, peaceful dinners can be enjoyed!
- Continued to play with her hands - grasping each other and examining how her fingers work.
- Continued to strengthen her neck and back muscles as she plays daily on her tummy. Soon she will be able to enjoy her exersaucer.
We delight daily in seeing her grow stronger and learn to play. She loves our attention and often rewards us with sweet smiles and giggles all day long! Today I have so little to complain about and so much to rejoice over!
We are certainly blessed by this little beautiful girl and ask that you pray that we would continue to seek the Lord in how to be godly parents and that she would continue to be healthy and would gain weight in a way that would satisfy her doctor.
